APC Targets Osun State Governorship in 2026 Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has committed to winning back Osun State in the upcoming governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026. APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, stated that this election is a critical test run for the 2027 general elections.

During the inauguration of the APC National Campaign Council at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja, Yilwatda highlighted the party's strategic advantage, which includes a network of governors, lawmakers, and recent defectors from opposition parties. Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, who chairs the campaign council, promised a disciplined and issue-based campaign that will emphasize the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Uzodimma assured that the campaign would focus on grassroots voter engagement and be conducted without violence. APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), expressed gratitude for the support from President Tinubu and party leadership.

The campaign council also includes Ibrahim Kabir Masari as deputy chairman and Jibrin Barau as secretary.
