Osun APC Accuses Adeleke of Secret Loan Scheme

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of plotting to secretly obtain a loan of N300 billion, allegedly using the 30 local government areas as collateral. APC spokesperson Kola Olabisi claimed that members of Adeleke's cabinet met with top career officials to discuss this plan.

The party argued that there is no justification for the state government to seek bank financing using local government councils as collateral, warning that this could plunge the state into debt. They emphasized that the Supreme Court has granted financial autonomy to local governments, making it impossible for the state government to interfere with their resources.

In response, Adeleke's spokesperson, Olawal Rashe, accused the APC of attempting to divert attention from their alleged hijacking of N250 billion meant for local governments and spreading baseless rumors. Rashe stated that the Adeleke administration is not involved in any criminal financial dealings and that the APC's actions would not go unpunished by the electorate.
