APC Confident of Retaining Kaduna in 2027 Elections

Hon. Sadiq Mamman-Lagos, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will retain Kaduna in the 2027 general elections, asserting that there is no strong opposition to dislodge the ruling party. In an interview on Friday, he attributed this expected victory to visible developments in the state under Governor Uba Sani and the growing political acceptance of the administration among residents.

Mamman-Lagos cautioned against relying on social media for electoral strength, emphasizing that the majority of Nigerian voters, particularly women in rural communities, are not active online and play a crucial role in elections. He noted significant changes in Kaduna, particularly in unity, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and inclusiveness.

He highlighted the importance of Southern Kaduna as a political bloc and mentioned the appointment of a Southern Kaduna indigene as Minister of Defence as a factor in strengthening inclusion. Mamman-Lagos also pointed out that the APC has made inroads into areas previously dominated by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
