APC Wins Kano House of Assembly By-election with Low Turnout

The All Progressives Congress (APC) secured two seats in the House of Assembly by-election held in Kano State, specifically in the Ungogo and Kano Municipal constituencies. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared APC candidate Aliyu Nabil Daneji as the winner of the poll with 7,484 votes, defeating eight other contestants.

The results were announced by Prof. Ibrahim Tajo Siraj, who confirmed the outcome following the collation of results from various polling units. Despite the clear margin of victory for the APC, the election was marked by low voter turnout, which electoral officials attributed to voter apathy, political fatigue, and the ongoing Ramadan fast.

Prof. Siraj commended the security agencies and electoral personnel for ensuring a smooth and orderly process throughout the election. Following the announcement, celebrations erupted among APC supporters, and Daneji expressed gratitude to the constituents for their participation, pledging to justify their confidence in him.
