APC Wins Zamfara Supplementary State Assembly By-election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate as the winner of the Zamfara Supplementary State Assembly By-election. The APC candidate, Kamilu Sa'idu, scored a total of votes, defeating the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate who scored votes.

The announcement was made by the returning officer, Professor Lawal Sa'adu of the Federal University Gusau. The by-election was held in the South State Assembly Constituency in Zamfara State after the initial election conducted on August 16 was declared inconclusive due to irregularities in five polling units.

The rerun election on August 21 saw the APC candidate leading with votes against the PDP's votes. This victory solidifies the APC's position in the state assembly.
