INEC Presents Certificate Of Return To Zamfara Lawmaker-Elect

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presented a Certificate of Return to the lawmaker-elect from Zamfara following a rerun election held at five polling units across two registration areas. The presentation took place at the INEC office in Gusau, the state capital, on Monday.

The initial election on August 16 was declared inconclusive due to irregularities at 109 polling units across six registration areas in Kaura Namoda Local Government. The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mahammud Isah, commended the democratic process and congratulated the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate while urging a focus on delivering development to the constituency.

The Zamfara State APC Chairman expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the rerun and assured party members that any issues within the party would be addressed before the next general election. The lawmaker-elect thanked his party leaders and supporters for entrusting him with the mandate.
