APC's Joshua Ishaku Wins Bwari Chairmanship Election

In the Bwari Area Council chairmanship election conducted on February 21, 2026, Joshua Ishaku of the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged victorious, receiving a total of 18,466 votes. The results were announced by Prof.

Moham Nurudeen, who confirmed Ishaku's win on Sunday. The second-place candidate was from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), who garnered 4,254 votes, while the candidate from the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) finished third with 3,515 votes.

The election was conducted across 10 wards in the Bwari Area Council, which included Igu, Shere, Duts, Ushafa, Byazhin, Kuduru, Kubwa, Usuma, Bwari Central, and Kawu. The formal declaration of Ishaku as the winner followed the ward results' collation.
