APC's Joshua Ishaku Wins Bwari Chairmanship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Joshua Ishaku of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the Bwari Area Council chairmanship election held on February 21, 2026. Ishaku received a total of 18,466 votes, leading the election results.

Prof. Moham Nurudeen announced the results, confirming that Ishaku met all legal requirements to be declared the winner.

The runner-up, Prof. Moham Nurudeen, represented the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and garnered 4,254 votes, while the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) came in third with 3,515 votes.

The election was conducted across 10 wards in the Bwari area, which includes locations such as Igu, Shere, Duts, Ushafa, Byazhin, Kuduru, Kubwa, Usuma, Bwari Central, and Kawu.
