APC's Monsuru Osho Wins Ogun Councillorship Bye-Election

Monsuru Osho of the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged victorious in the Ogun State councillorship bye-election held in Iperu III Ward 5, Ikenne Local Government Area. The election was conducted to fill the vacant seat following the death of former councillor Nurudeen Bakar.

Osho secured 1,730 votes out of a total of 1,741 votes cast. The People's Democratic Party (PDP) received five votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) garnered four votes.

Voting commenced at 8:00 AM, with security personnel deployed across the ward to ensure a peaceful exercise. OGSIEC Chairman Babatunde Osibodu, representing the commission, and Gbemi Onasanya described the election as peaceful, free, and credible, commending residents for their participation.

Jamiu Asimi, Chairman of Ikenne Local Government, praised OGSIEC for conducting a smooth and transparent election. Following his victory, Osho expressed gratitude to voters for their overwhelming support and pledged to work towards improving the welfare of residents in the ward.
