Adeleke Campaign Rejects APC's External Support Claims

The Imole Campaign Council, led by Rep. Bamidele Salam, has dismissed the assertion by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, that the party's deployment of political heavyweights will dominate the upcoming Osun governorship election on August 15, 2026. The Council criticized Yilwatda's "trailer versus Keke Napep" analogy as politically arrogant and indicative of the APC's misunderstanding of Osun's political dynamics.

They emphasized that elections are determined by the electorate, not by the number of political figures involved. The Council asserted that Governor Ademola Adeleke has earned significant goodwill due to his administration's achievements in various sectors, including infrastructure and healthcare.

They characterized the APC's candidate, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, as weak and lacking popularity, arguing that reliance on external political figures reflects the candidate's inability to connect with voters. The Council urged the APC to focus on substantive issues rather than political metaphors.
