APC and Adeleke's Campaign Exchange Allegations Ahead of Election

Ahead of the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Governor Ademola Adeleke’s campaign team, The Imole Campaign Council (TICC), have engaged in a war of words over allegations of security failures and political violence. The APC, through its Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, challenged Adeleke, the Accord governorship candidate seeking re-election, to address claims that his administration has not effectively tackled political violence and criminal activities since he took office in November 2022.

The APC accused Adeleke of running a "hoodlum-friendly administration" and demanded explanations regarding governance and security issues. In response, the Imole Campaign Council, represented by spokesperson Pelumi Olajengbesi, dismissed the allegations and accused the APC of fostering intimidation and violence.

The council asserted that Osun residents are ready to vote against the APC, citing concerns over political intimidation. They defended Adeleke's administration, highlighting regular salary payments, ongoing infrastructure projects, and calls for a peaceful election.
