APGA Clears 155 Aspirants for 2027 Elections

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has approved a total of 155 aspirants for the forthcoming 2027 general elections. This includes 48 candidates for the National Assembly and 107 for the Anambra State House of Assembly primaries.

The announcement was made on Friday, following a screening exercise conducted by the party. The list of successful aspirants includes eight candidates for the Senate and 40 for the House of Representatives.

Mazi Ejimofor Opara, the party's national publicity secretary, confirmed that the successful aspirants should collect their nomination forms at the party's regional office in Awka starting Monday, May 18, 2026, with the sale of nomination forms closing on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. The primaries for the Senate and House of Representatives are scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026.

Among the cleared aspirants is Stella Oduah, a former Minister of Aviation, who is seeking the party's ticket for the Anambra North senatorial district.
