APGA Ex-Presidential Candidate Umeadi Quits Politics, Cites Personal Reasons

Justice Prof. Onyekwelu Jideobi Umeadi, a former presidential candidate for APGA, has decided to quit politics, as revealed in his resignation letter dated November 24, 2025.

Umeadi, who ran on the Umeadi-Moham ticket in the 2023 presidential election, highlighted his commitment to the rule of law, separation of powers, due process, and social progress. He joined APGA in March 2019 and won the party's presidential ticket in June 2022.

Umeadi, born on July 4, 1955, served as the Chief Judge of Anambra State from 2011 to 2019 and is a respected figure in the legal profession and academia.
