Minister Urges Nigerians to Support Military Troops

On Wednesday, Minister of Defence Christoph G. Musa, alongside Minister of State for Defence Alhaji Bello Matawalle, visited Borno State to console the people and assess the recent security situation.

During his address to journalists after a closed-door meeting with military commanders, including Maj Gen Abdulsalam Abubakar, Musa reassured the public that the military is committed to ensuring that incidents of violence do not recur. He highlighted the necessity of collective security efforts, stating that security is everyone's responsibility and that public support is crucial for military success.

Musa called for appreciation of the troops, urging Nigerians to commend their efforts rather than criticize them for minor mistakes. He also mentioned that the President has approved payments for new military equipment, including aircraft and armored vehicles, to enhance operations against insurgents.

Musa emphasized the need for prayers and cooperation from the public to effectively combat insecurity in the region.
