IGP Disu Honors Late IGP Arase at Memorial Lecture

On Monday, during a public lecture organized to commemorate the one-year remembrance of late Inspector-General of Police Solomon Arase, IGP Olatunji Disu praised Arase's significant contributions to policing, which he stated extended beyond his years of service. The event, themed ‘Policing, Good Governance, and National Development: The Strategic Role of Police Veterans in Building a Secure Nigeria,’ featured various guest speakers, including Professor Etannibi Alemika.

A press statement from Force Public Relations Officer CSP Anietie Iniedu indicated that the event was attended by notable figures such as former IGPs Sunday Ehindero and Mohammed Abubakar, and dignitaries including the representative of the Governor of Akwa Ibom state, AIG Yemi Ogunyemilusi (retd.), and DIG Mohammed Yesufu (retd.). DIG Yesufu called for the establishment of a Veterans Affairs Department within the Nigeria Police Force to enhance support for retired officers, reflecting Arase's commitment to their welfare.

Chief Disu, the National President of POWA, commended Arase's dedication to supporting the families of fallen officers.
