IGP Disu Honors Police Officers for Schoolchildren Rescue

Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu welcomed the officers of the Nigeria Police Force’s Special Intervention Squad who participated in the rescue of abducted Orire schoolchildren. He mourned the loss of one officer during the operation, emphasizing that the death of any officer is a national loss.

Since becoming the 23rd Indigenous Inspector-General of Police, IGP Disu has consistently shown that police officers' lives matter, attending funerals of fallen officers, such as one in Zamfara State killed by bandits. He advocates for greater recognition of police officers who die in the line of duty, comparing their sacrifices to those of military personnel.

IGP Disu noted that low morale is a significant challenge within the Nigeria Police Force, as many officers work under difficult conditions and feel their sacrifices are often forgotten.
