Nigerian Architects Launch Design Contest to Honor Renowned Architect

Architects and students in Nigeria have initiated a national design contest to celebrate the 60th birthday of Anthony Okoy, a respected architect and founder of Design Genre Limited. The competition, organized by the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) and the Obafemi Awolowo University, seeks to honor Okoy's contributions to architecture and inspire the next generation of architects to focus on sustainable and inclusive urban development.

The theme of the contest is reimagining urban blocks in Nigerian cities, encouraging innovative and replicable design ideas. John Ojo, the president of the student association, emphasized the importance of nurturing young talent and promoting environmentally conscious architecture in Nigeria.
