The Arewa Think Tank has called on feuding politicians across Nigeria to emulate the recent reconciliation between Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia and George Akume. This statement was issued in Kaduna on a Monday and emphasizes the importance of unity and collaboration within political parties.

The reconciliation marks the formal end of a prolonged political rift that lasted nearly three years, which had created divisions within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State. The high-level meeting held on May 3, 2026, at the Government House in Makurdi focused on fostering unity within the party and promoting inclusive governance.

The Arewa Think Tank commended the development as a capability to strengthen party cohesion and urged that such reconciliations be replicated nationwide to ensure that political disagreements are resolved amicably, which is essential for defining leadership and serving the interests of the people.
