Ukeje Urges Capacity Building Before State Police Creation

Hon. Nnena Ukeje, a former member of the House of Representatives, spoke at the Arise News Townhall in Abuja, where she advised the Federal Government to enhance the capacity of the police before creating state police forces.

Ukeje highlighted the current weaknesses within the Nigerian police, which she believes are inadequate to effectively confront various crimes, including terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping. She pointed out that different methods are required to address the country's security challenges and emphasized the importance of strengthening institutions to ensure good governance.
