Armed Bandits Flee Kwara Forests After Military Operations

In Kwara state, armed bandits have fled forests as a result of sustained air and ground military operations. The military leadership confirmed the success of the operations, which led to the destruction of several criminal camps and the neutralization of an undisclosed number of terrorists.

The joint security watch in Kwara South, led by Elder Olaitan Oyin Zubair, reported that the offensive targeted major bandit enclaves in the Baba Sango Forest, spanning Ifelodun, Edu, and Patigi local government areas. Intelligence reports confirmed the fleeing of bandits who sustained gunshot injuries.

Fresh kidnapping incidents were also reported along the Idofin Odo Aga Olla road, with two women and a young boy abducted by suspected bandits. Forest guards in Ekiti Okero local government area displayed bravery in repelling the bandits and preventing their movement within the community.

Residents in Kwara South and neighboring communities were urged to remain vigilant and cooperate fully with security agencies to report any suspicious movements or unfamiliar faces in the area.
