Armed Forces Urge Unity Against Insecurity in Nigeria

During an Easter retreat organized by the FCT Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Maj Gen Michael Onoja, representing the Chief of Defence Staff, appealed for collaboration between journalists and citizens to combat insecurity in Nigeria. He drew parallels between the resurrection of Christ and Nigeria's journey towards stability, asserting that the nation's trials are not permanent and urging a renewal of faith and unity.

Onoja acknowledged the media's vital role in shaping national consciousness and promoting unity, urging journalists to project verified facts and highlight the sacrifices of security personnel. Ret Col Timothy Antaga, representing the Minister of Defence, echoed the call for journalists to support government efforts in addressing insecurity, emphasizing the importance of credible sources.
