Army Commander Dikko Seeks NUJ Support for Security

On Tuesday, Brigadier General Ahmad Mansur Dikko, the Commander of the 14 Brigade Nigerian Army based in Ohafia, called for support from the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) during a courtesy visit led by the NUJ Abia State Council Chairman, Chidi Asony. Dikko highlighted the importance of fostering a strong relationship between the military and the media to enhance security and stability within the brigade's area of responsibility.

He noted that the media has the capacity to build trust and confidence among the public, which is essential for the military's operational success. Dikko commended the NUJ for its support of the Nigerian Army's projects and activities in Abia State and stressed the need for professional and transparent engagement with journalists.

He urged that any misconduct involving army personnel should be promptly reported to the command for necessary disciplinary action. Asony assured Dikko of the NUJ's commitment to maintaining a cordial relationship with the brigade and emphasized the importance of balanced reporting.
