Army Announces Shooting Exercise in Abia State

The 14 Brigade Nigerian Army, based in Ohafia, Abia State, has announced a shooting exercise set to take place on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan shooting range. The exercise will run from 12:00 noon to 11:00 PM and is part of routine military training aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, marksmanship, and combat readiness among participating soldiers.

Captain Muyiwa Ayara, speaking on behalf of the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, advised the public not to panic at the sound of gunshots during the exercise, which will be conducted in a controlled and secure environment. Residents are strongly advised to stay away from the shooting range area throughout the duration of the exercise and to adhere to strict instructions to avoid unauthorized movement within and around the designated training zone.

The military has assured the public of its commitment to the safety and security of citizens and solicited their understanding and cooperation.
