Army Arrests Three Terrorist Logistics Couriers in Kogi

On April 20, 2026, troops from the 12 Brigade of the Nigerian Army arrested three suspected terrorist logistics couriers in Kogi State. Lt.

Hassan Abdulahi, acting as the Director of Army Public Relations for the brigade, disclosed that the arrests occurred while the suspects were riding motorcycles along the Lokoja-Abuja expressway. The operation was initiated following credible intelligence regarding the movement of terrorist logistics elements in the area.

The suspects were identified as Mathew Elisha, who was on a security watchlist, and two others, Mallam Zubairu and Abubakar Adamu Abdullahi. A thorough search of their vehicle, a Toyota bus, revealed 314 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and three AK-47 rifle magazines concealed behind the driver's seat.
