Nigerian Army Launches 2026 Senior Staff Course Exams

The Nigerian Army commenced the 2026 Senior Staff Course Qualifying Examination (SSCQE) on August 10, 2026, with an emphasis on professionalism, integrity, and diligence. Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff, urged the Examination Panel to uphold these values.

The examination is being held simultaneously at the Nigerian Defence Academy Post Graduate School in Kaduna and the Headquarters Infantry Corps Centre in Jaji, Kaduna State. Major General Peter Malla, representing the Chief of Army Staff, stressed the importance of maintaining the credibility of the examination process, which is essential for career progression for officers seeking selection into the Senior Staff Course at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College and other military institutions globally.

Major General Godwin Mutkut, hosting the exercise, assured that robust administrative, logistical, and security arrangements were in place for a smooth examination process. The SSCQE is scheduled to run until August 14, 2026.
