COAS Urges Army Special Forces to Intensify Anti-Terror Ops

On Tuesday, during his maiden operational visit to the Army Special Forces Command in Doma, Nasarawa State, Lt. Gen.

Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), charged the troops to intensify and sustain high-impact operations aimed at decisively defeating terrorist insurgents across Nigeria. In a statement by Colonel Appolonia Anel, the COAS highlighted that the Nigerian Army Special Forces are at the forefront of the campaign to dismantle and neutralize criminal networks threatening national security.

He emphasized the strategic importance of intelligence-driven operations and urged personnel to remain proactive and adaptable to evolving security environments. Lt.

Gen. Shaibu also reassured the troops that their welfare and that of their families remain a top priority for the leadership.

He received a comprehensive operational briefing from Major Gen. Olurotimi Azubuik Awolo and Brig.

Gen. Umar Faruk Abubakar, who expressed satisfaction with the operational outlook and training standards.
