Nigerian Army Reshuffles Senior Officers for Security Boost

The Nigerian Army has executed a significant reshuffle of senior officers aimed at improving operational effectiveness and strengthening national security. This restructuring, approved by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, includes several key appointments.

Major General WM Dangana has been appointed as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 3 Division, while Major General EF Oyinlola and Major General EI Okoro will lead the 6 Division and the Land Component Command of the Joint Task Force in the South-South, respectively. Other notable appointments include Major General JR Lar as the Commander at Army Headquarters Garrison, Brigadier General OM Oyekola as Acting Military Secretary, and Brigadier General IB Buhari as Commander of the 63 Brigade.

The reshuffle is part of ongoing efforts to build a highly professional and combat-ready force capable of addressing contemporary security challenges across the country, as stated in a release by Colonel Appolonia Anel, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations.
