Bandits Attack Niger State Communities, Three Dead

On Tuesday, around 10:30 AM, bandits attacked three communities in Niger State, specifically targeting Erena Ward in the Shiroro Local Government Area. The assault resulted in the deaths of at least three residents and left several others injured.

The attackers, arriving in large numbers on motorcycles, operated for several hours without facing any resistance. Local sources reported that the casualty count could be higher, as residents continued to assess the situation.

So far, three bodies have been recovered, while others sustained injuries of varying degrees. Many residents fled to nearby communities, considering them safer.

Mauric Bello Magaji, the Commissioner for Homeland Security in Niger State, confirmed the incident and stated that the state had received credible information and was working with security forces to address the situation.
