Nigerian Army Offers Free Healthcare in Oyo State

The Nigerian Army's 2 Division, under the command of Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, expanded its community healthcare initiatives to enhance civil-military trust. This outreach occurred in Ojoo, Akinyele Local Government Area, Oyo State, as part of the 163rd Nigerian Army Day celebrations.

The initiative provided free healthcare services to nearly 1,000 residents, including medical consultations, laboratory investigations, physiotherapy, eye care, dental treatment, and the distribution of essential healthcare items like insecticide-treated mosquito nets. The outreach was designed to address healthcare challenges faced by the local population and to complement government efforts in the health sector.

Chief Amusa Olagboyega commended the Nigerian Army for its timely intervention, describing the outreach as a significant support for residents unable to afford medical treatment. The program reflects the Nigerian Army's commitment to humanitarian service and aims to strengthen relationships within the community.
