Nigerian Army Graduates 27 Drone Pilots in Kaduna

The Nigerian Army graduated 27 newly trained drone pilots on Friday, as part of efforts to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen intelligence gathering in ongoing security operations in the northwest. The graduation ceremony took place at the Giginya Military Cantonment in Kaduna and was led by Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, the Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the 8 Division.

Major General Bemgba Paul Koughna, the General Officer Commanding the 8 Division and Sector 2 of the Joint Task Force in the northwest, emphasized the Army's growing reliance on technology-driven warfare to improve force protection. He stated that unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) significantly enhance situational awareness, reduce operational risks, and improve decision-making on the battlefield.

The training program, coordinated by Captain Samuel Yakubu, included both theoretical instruction and practical exercises, teaching participants drone navigation, aircraft assembly, and surveillance operations. The newly qualified pilots showcased their skills during a practical demonstration at the end of the course.
