Troops Neutralize 38 ISWAP Terrorists in Borno Operation

On Saturday morning, troops from the Joint Task Force (JTF) successfully neutralized 38 ISWAP terrorists during an operation in Borno, specifically at the Mandaragirau sector. The operation was characterized by a coordinated ambush that forced the terrorists into a disordered retreat.

Close air support was provided by the air component of the operation, enhancing the troops' ability to respond effectively to the terrorist threat. Following the ambush, the troops pursued the fleeing terrorists, inflicting further heavy losses.

A total of 38 terrorists were confirmed neutralized, with 8 bodies recovered immediately from the area. Local human intelligence indicated that an additional 30 bodies were abandoned along the withdrawal route, which included evidence such as blood trails and discarded equipment.

The troops recovered 7 AK-47 rifles, 8 magazines, 4 RPGs, and assorted ammunition. Although one MRAP was hit by RPG fire, personnel injuries were stabilized, and the operation sparked jubilation among local communities, underscoring the sustained dominance of the JTF in denying terrorists freedom of action.
