Army Kills Bandit Leader's Son in Zamfara Raid

In a significant military operation on Saturday, troops from the Nigerian Army killed several bandits, including the son of notorious bandit leader Ado Alero, during an assault on Alero's camp in Tsafe Local Government Area, Zamfara State. Capt.

David Adewusi, the spokesperson for Operation Fansan Yanma, confirmed the operation's success, which resulted in the deaths of numerous fighters, including Iliya Sarki, Ado Alero's biological son. Reports indicate that at least 65 fighters were killed during the raid, which involved heavy military firepower and precise airstrikes.

Ado Alero is believed to have mobilized around 300 motorcyclists to reinforce his group, which has been linked to various criminal activities, including kidnapping and cattle rustling across several states. The military is currently focused on tracking down fleeing members of the group to prevent potential reprisals against vulnerable communities and to dismantle the remaining cells associated with Ado Alero.
