Nigerian Troops Neutralize Three Bandits in Zamfara

On May 7, 2026, troops from the Nigerian Army, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, conducted a successful offensive against bandits in Zamfara State. The operation took place in the early hours and involved patrols in the Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji local government areas.

The troops made contact with armed terrorists in Dumburum Village, leading to a fierce exchange of fire. The Nigerian Army's superior firepower overwhelmed the bandits, forcing them to flee and suffer significant casualties.

The operation resulted in the neutralization of three terrorists and the recovery of various arms and ammunition, including an AK-47 rifle, a machine gun, a local fabric handgun, seven rifle magazines, and a total of 571 rounds of ammunition. Importantly, there were no casualties recorded among the troops during this operation.

Lieutenant Colonel Danja urged the general public to continue supporting security agencies, emphasizing that credible information would enhance ongoing operations aimed at ensuring safety and security in Zamfara State and the wider northwest region.
