Army Neutralizes Two Gunmen in Plateau State Operation

On Tuesday, at approximately 7:49 PM, troops from the Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace engaged in a successful ambush against two armed gunmen in the Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State. The operation was initiated following credible intelligence regarding the movement of armed criminals in the area, who were allegedly responsible for attacks on local communities.

Upon sighting the gunmen, the troops sprang into action, resulting in a firefight that led to the neutralization of the two armed men, while several others managed to flee into the surrounding bush. Following the encounter, military personnel conducted a search of the area, recovering a local fabric rifle, five rounds of 7.62x39mm ammunition, a cutlass, a jackknife, and a mobile phone.

The troops have maintained their presence in the Marit Lajam Axis to prevent further attacks and to track the fleeing suspects, reaffirming their commitment to protecting the lives and property of law-abiding citizens and urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements.
