Military Operation in Plateau State Neutralizes Two Gunmen

On Tuesday, during a military operation in Plateau State, specifically in the Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, two armed gunmen were killed following a coordinated ambush by troops under the Joint Task Force, led by Captain Chinonso Oteh. The operation was initiated at approximately 7:49 PM after the troops acted on credible intelligence regarding the movement of the gunmen, who were allegedly responsible for attacks on local communities.

Upon sighting the criminals, the troops successfully ambushed them, resulting in a firefight that led to the neutralization of the two gunmen, while several others fled into the surrounding bush. Following the encounter, the military conducted a search of the area, recovering a local fabric rifle, five rounds of 7.62 and 39mm ammunition, a cutlass, a jackknife, and a mobile phone.

The troops are committed to maintaining their presence in the area to prevent further attacks and are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements to security agencies.
