Troops from the Joint Task Force (JTF) recorded significant operational success in Plateau State by arresting two impostors who were allegedly masquerading as security personnel. This operation took place in the Wase Local Government Area late at night, following a distress call regarding sporadic gunfire in the Duts Uku area. The troops swiftly mobilized and intercepted the two individuals dressed in black tactical uniforms, who were caught in the act of setting a house ablaze, which was intended to foment violence within the community. Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh confirmed the developments, stating that the suspects are currently in custody. During the operation, two civilians sustained gunshot wounds and were evacuated to a medical facility where they are in stable condition. The JTF emphasized that the arrests debunked allegations of military involvement in the unrest, highlighting that criminal elements were disguising themselves as security operatives to perpetrate attacks and tarnish the image of the armed forces.
