Nigerian Army Arrests 53 Suspected Criminals in Plateau

In a recent operation, the Nigerian Army apprehended 53 suspected criminals and extremists in Plateau State. The coordinated efforts included targeted raids in Barkin Ladi, where troops from Sector 4 arrested nine suspects at a drug hideout, seizing quantities of cannabis sativa, mobile phones, and power banks.

Additionally, troops from Sector 1, in support of the Department of State Services (DSS), arrested 44 members of the Sara Suka group across multiple communities in Jos North, recovering various dangerous weapons. The operation also led to the recovery of four stolen cattle in the Riyom local government area, which were returned to their owner.

The military's proactive measures aim to dismantle criminal and extremist networks while protecting civilians and upholding law and order across the country. The report also mentioned a response to a community clash involving militia attacks in Taraba and Benue states, where two corpses were recovered, and investigations are ongoing regarding civilian injuries sustained during the encounter.
