Troops Arrest 53 Suspected Criminals in Plateau State

In Plateau State, Nigerian Army troops conducted operations that led to the arrest of 53 suspected criminals and members of extremist groups within a 24-hour period. The operations included a raid in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, where nine suspects were apprehended for possessing quantities of cannabis sativa and other items.

Additionally, 44 members of the Sara Suka group were arrested across multiple communities in Jos North. The troops also recovered various dangerous weapons and four stolen cattle, which were returned to their owner.

These efforts are part of the army's commitment to dismantling criminal and extremist networks to protect civilians and uphold law and order. The operations followed a recent incident involving militia attacks in Taraba and Benue states, where two corpses were recovered, and civilians sustained gunshot injuries during confrontations.
