Troops Recover Weapons, Arrest Suspects in Delta Operation

In a significant operation, troops from the 63 Brigade, part of the Joint Task Force in the South-South region, successfully recovered arms and arrested two suspects in Delta State. The operation took place in the Ogidigben community of Warri South West Local Government Area, following reports of sporadic gunfire that caused panic among residents.

The troops, acting on credible intelligence, swiftly mobilized to the area, confiscating four AK-47 rifles, six magazines, and 106 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, along with two knives, ten machetes, and four pairs of rain boots. The suspects apprehended during the operation are currently in custody and undergoing further investigation.

The security authorities commended the resilience of the troops, with Brigadier General Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibar urging them to sustain the operational tempo and reaffirming the brigade's commitment to denying criminal elements the freedom to act. He also warned individuals and groups involved in illegal activities to desist.
