Nigerian Army Marks 163rd Anniversary with Commitment to Security

The Nigerian Army renewed its commitment to national security during a special interdenominational church service held in Sokoto on Sunday, commemorating its 163rd anniversary. Major General Bemgba Paul Koughna, the General Officer Commanding the 8 Division, emphasized the theme "Protect the Nation, Serve the People," which reflects the Army's resolve to strengthen its professional service to the country.

The anniversary provided an opportunity to appreciate divine guidance and assess the Army's achievements while honoring personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice. Koughna praised the courage and discipline of the soldiers in confronting national security challenges and assured that the Chief of Army Staff is committed to the welfare of the troops.

The event was attended by various military personnel, their families, and members of the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA) and the Nigerian Army Soldiers Wives Association (NASWA), highlighting the Army's dedication to service and sacrifice in defense of Nigeria.
