Nigerian Army Renovates 81 Battalion Headquarters in Oyo

The Nigerian Army has officially commissioned the renovation of the 81 Battalion headquarters and the commander's residence located at Mokola Barrack in Ibadan, Oyo State. This initiative, aimed at improving troop welfare and enhancing operational efficiency, was overseen by Major General Chinedu Nnebeif, the General Officer Commanding 2 Division of the Nigerian Army.

The project aligns with the Army's commitment to providing conducive living and working environments for personnel, as emphasized by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede. The renovations, which began on February 17, 2025, and were completed on May 15, 2026, included extensive upgrades such as reroofing, electrical and plumbing improvements, and modern fittings.

Lieutenant Colonel Emmanuel Agaku, who initiated the project after assessing the barracks' infrastructure, highlighted the importance of quality facilities in boosting morale and combat readiness among soldiers. The project was executed under strict quality control measures, ensuring a successful outcome.
