Nigerian Army Rescues Kidnapped Victims, Dismantles Criminals

The Nigerian Army reported significant operational success across multiple theaters within a 24-hour period, focusing on neutralizing threats, rescuing kidnapped victims, and disrupting criminal networks. In Kogi State, troops from the 12 Brigade collaborated with local police to arrest two suspected terrorists and recover two motorcycles and two chainsaw machines during operations in Kakuma, Ileteju, and Origa Ijumu villages.

In Sokoto State, troops rescued a foreign national, a Nigerien citizen, who had been held captive for three weeks, highlighting the cross-border dimension of terrorist activities. In Niger State, army troops neutralized threats by dismantling a terrorist camp and destroying an illegal mining site.

In Akwa Ibom State, six suspects were arrested, and a large quantity of illicit substances, including 20 kg of cannabis sativa and various other drugs, was recovered. Additionally, in Rivers State, troops dismantled illegal bunker facilities and recovered equipment used for illicit oil refining.

The operations reflect sustained offensive actions and effective inter-agency collaboration to tackle insecurity nationwide.
