Nigerian Army Foils Terrorism, Arrests Drug Traffickers

The Nigerian Army reported significant operational successes within a 24-hour period, including the neutralization of five terrorists and the rescue of kidnap victims. Troops from the 12 Brigade in Kogi State rescued two victims along the Agbed Adankolo road in Kabba Bunu Local Government Area.

Additionally, two suspects linked to logistics were apprehended in Taraba State. In Bauchi State, troops intercepted five motorcycles involved in cattle rustling, recovering 198 cattle.

Operations in the South-South and South-East regions led to the arrest of 27 suspects connected to drug trafficking networks. The army also uncovered improvised explosive devices in Cross River State and intercepted stolen metals and illegal petroleum products in River State.

Further operations in Borno and Adamawa states resulted in the arrest of suspects linked to kidnapping logistics. The Nigerian Army emphasized its commitment to national security and collaboration with sister security agencies to combat threats.
