Nigerian Army to Conduct Shooting Range Exercise in Lokoja

The Nigerian Army announced that the 12 Brigade will conduct its first annual range classification exercise from March 30 to April 2 at the Chari Maigumeri Shooting Range in Lokoja. Lt.

Hassan Abdullahi, the brigade's spokesperson, disclosed this information in a statement on Monday. The exercise aims to enhance the marksmanship and operational readiness of officers and soldiers, allowing the brigade to assess its weaponry against standard military requirements.

This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts of the Nigerian Army to strengthen its capacity to tackle banditry and security challenges in the region. Residents of Lokoja and neighboring communities, including Shettima and Zango, have been urged not to panic at the sound of gunshots and to be aware of troop movements during this period.

The Army has also appealed to residents to help disseminate this information widely, including translating it into local languages to ensure adequate awareness.
