Benue Youths Support Governor Alia, Reject Unseat Attempts

Youths in Benue State have rallied behind Governor Hyacinth Alia, denouncing efforts allegedly orchestrated by Georg Akum, a loyalist of the former administration, to undermine his leadership. They expressed concern over the lack of commitment to the state's development and accused these efforts of being driven by personal interests rather than the welfare of citizens.

The group emphasized that Alia's leadership has inspired hope for a better Benue, asserting their unwavering support for his re-election bid. They acknowledged that while Alia is human and has flaws, he has made significant strides, including the introduction of free education and infrastructure improvements.

The youths criticized the previous administration under Samuel Ortom for failing to properly transition power and for leaving the state's treasury depleted. They urged all political actors to engage in credible and constructive dialogue, warning against actions that could destabilize the current administration.
