Papa Ajasco Actor Abiodun Ayoyinka Reveals Financial Struggles

Abiodun Ayoyinka, the actor known for his role as Papa Ajasco, has revealed his financial struggles, stating that despite his fame from the long-running sitcom produced by Wale Adenuga, he faces significant challenges. Ayoyinka, who is 65 years old and retired from the Lagos State Ministry of Arts and Culture five years ago, lamented in a viral interview that he does not own a car or house and earns a modest fee per episode.

He noted that payments for episodes have increased from N2,500 in 1997 to N25,000 but are still insufficient for a stable income. Wale Adenuga responded to Ayoyinka's claims, emphasizing their cordial relationship and clarifying that Ayoyinka has benefited from various forms of support, including vehicles over the years.

Adenuga also explained that the trademark of the Papa Ajasco character restricts Ayoyinka from independently using the brand for personal ventures. Despite the financial hardships mentioned, Adenuga firmly rejected the notion that Ayoyinka's opportunities are limited by their collaboration.
