Tinubu Orders Service Chiefs to Relocate to Maiduguri

President Bola Tinubu has directed the relocation of Service Chiefs to Maiduguri, Borno State, to address the worsening security situation in the region, particularly following multiple bomb attacks that resulted in the loss of 20 lives and over 100 injuries. This decision comes in response to a series of coordinated assaults by Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), which have led to the deaths of at least three commanding officers and numerous soldiers in recent months.

The President's initiative aims to ensure that the Nigerian military can effectively combat insurgency in the northeast. This is not the first time Tinubu has ordered military leaders to relocate to conflict zones; he previously instructed military chiefs to move to Sokoto State to tackle rampant terrorism in the northwest.

The military's operational capabilities are expected to be enhanced as part of this strategic shift, with the aim of providing adequate care for the injured and confronting terrorist threats decisively.
