Military Chiefs Relocate to Borno Following Terror Attack

Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Oluyede and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Shaibu have relocated to Borno State in response to a recent terrorist attack in the northern region. They arrived in Maiduguri on Wednesday, following President Tinubu's order to enhance military operations against criminal terrorist groups across Nigeria.

The military chiefs proceeded directly to the Theatre Command Headquarters of the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai after landing at the Maiduguri Air Force Base. Upon arrival, they were received by top military brass and participated in a closed-door meeting with the Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

This relocation is part of a broader strategy to address the crisis, as the President described the attack as a desperate attempt by terrorists under increasing pressure from Nigerian security forces. Tinubu emphasized the need for security forces to intensify operations and approved additional operational support and equipment to strengthen the fight against insurgency.
