Tinubu Orders Security Chiefs to Maiduguri After Bombings

Following deadly bombings in Borno State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expressed deep sorrow and described the attacks as painful. He assured residents that the federal government would intensify efforts to defeat insurgents.

In a statement issued on Tuesday morning, Tinubu sympathized with families who lost loved ones and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. He characterized the attacks as a desperate attempt by terrorists to pressure Nigerian security forces.

Tinubu emphasized the need for security forces to intensify operations against criminal terrorist groups across the country. He praised the military and security agencies for their efforts in repelling coordinated attacks.

During a security meeting with national intelligence leaders, Tinubu ordered security chiefs to relocate to Maiduguri to coordinate ground operations. He also approved additional operational support and equipment to strengthen the fight against insurgency and directed emergency management agencies to provide immediate medical care to the injured.

Tinubu reaffirmed the government's determination to tackle terrorism nationwide.
