Ashe Wins 100m Trials, Aims for Commonwealth Medal

Ashe won the 100m finals at the trials with a personal best time of 9.93 seconds, marking the fastest time ever recorded for a 100m sprint on Nigerian soil. He finished ahead of Fakored Adekalu and Chidera Ezeakor, who placed second and third, respectively.

The 24-year-old sprinter expressed his deserving victory after years of hard work and training, stating that he believes everything is finally going right for him. Recently crowned champion in Qatar, Ashe has undergone rigorous training and adopted a strict lifestyle to prepare for international competitions.

He is confident that Nigeria can expect a podium finish at the Commonwealth Games, scheduled to take place in Glasgow, Scotland, from July 23 to August 2.
